Yanyong Guo joined the Department of Civil Engineering at University of British Columbia in June 2016 as a postdoctoral fellow. Dr. Guo received the Master degree at Chang’an University and Doctoral degree at Southeast University, China, in 2012 and 2016, respectively. Between 2014 and 2015, he was a visiting scholar at UBC under the supervision of Professor Tarek Sayed, where he worked on the safety evaluation of unconventional intersection design, and pedestrian walking behavior analysis. Dr. Guo’s research interests include advanced statistical techniques for safety evaluation, surrogate safety analysis, pedestrian walking behavior, as well as sustainable transportation.
